- During the 2007-2008 school year, the Arkansas Injury Prevention Center conducted 10 focus groups across the state to understand general knowledge and perceptions about school commuting as well as specific beliefs about the Safe Routes to School program. The 2008 Arkansas Safe Routes to School Qualitative Assessment Report summarizes information collected from those 10 focus groups. Based on this information, we developed SRTS resources to meet the needs of Arkansas communities, schools, parents, and students. Thank you to all of our focus group participants and partners that supported this project.
- With the year three grant cycle beginning, we will be holding five Promotional School Rallies across the state. These will be exciting and fun-filled rallies to motivate children Kindergarten through eighth grade and encourage communities to promote Safe Routes to School programs. Only communities applying for a year three grant are eligible to host these rallies.
